Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager at Car City will play a pivotal role in driving sales growth by leading and developing our Business Development Center (BDC) team. This position focuses on maximizing appointment booking rates, enhancing BDC agent performance, and fostering seamless collaboration with the sales team to ensure a consistent and effective customer experience.
Business Development Manager Responsibilities:
- Appointment Booking Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to increase appointment booking rates from leads generated by the BDC.
- BDC Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and motivate BDC agents to achieve and exceed appointment booking goals.
- Sales Team Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team to ensure smooth handoffs of appointments and alignment on customer needs.
- Performance Monitoring & Improvement: Evaluate BDC agent performance through call monitoring, data analysis, and feedback sessions, implementing new communication tactics and scripts as needed.
- Lead Distribution & Management: Delegate leads equitably and efficiently to maximize conversion potential.
- Training & Mentoring: Provide comprehensive business development and product training to new and existing BDC agents.
- CRM Management: Ensure accurate and timely data entry and analysis within the company's CRM system (VinSolutions preferred).
- Process Improvement: Develop, manage, and edit Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance BDC efficiency and effectiveness.
- Communication & Reporting: Provide regular progress reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
- Marketing Alignment: Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all BDC communications.
- Market Awareness: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to inform BDC strategies.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Previous management experience, preferably in a BDC or sales environment.
- Associate’s degree in a related field preferred or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record of driving appointment booking rates and improving team performance.
- Full-time availability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong ability to motivate and influence others (effective interpersonal communication with leadership, direct reports, peers, and external contacts).
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in CRM systems (VinSolutions preferred) and Microsoft 365.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage time effectively.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a passion for developing and leading teams.
- Physical demands: Office position that will require sitting at a desk for periods of time while also collaborating with others as needed.
