Job Title : Tow Truck Driver
Reports to : BDC Manager / Service Manager
Job Description :
Responsible for picking up and delivering vehicles while providing the utmost customer service to both employees and customers.
- Offer outstanding customer service.
- Meet and greet customers in a prompt professional manner upon arrival.
- Verify customers' information for all pick up and deliveries.
- Answer guest questions upon completion of pick up or delivery back.
- Perform customer vehicle visual inspections and indicate damage before and after service / body shop appointment.
- Perform visual inspections of all loaner vehicles being released / delivered.
- Work along service advisors / estimators and service coordinators.
- Assist estimators and move vehicles as needed to designate within the shop.
- Communicating with a dispatcher, driving to the scene of an accident or breakdown, connecting the vehicle to the tow truck, and transporting it back to the shop or dealership.
- The driver will be responsible for attaching the disabled vehicle to the tow truck.
- Depending on the type of tow truck, this may include using a chain, winch, steering locks, and other devices as well as affixing lights onto the towed vehicle.
- Cleaning / Organizing around the shop.
- Assisting car wash / detail team to maintain the cleanliness of vehicles.
- Meet tow truck driver compliance required by insurance company.
- Drive to customers locations as directed by dispatch to pick up vehicle.
- Keep records of all trips.
- Announce departures.
- Treat members of the public in a courteous and non-discriminatory manner.
- Work in cooperative and professional manner with all personnel and conform to the company's policy and non-discrimination and harassment.
- Maintain professional demeanor when on the job.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
