Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting asphalt safely and efficiently across designated routes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage various types of trucks, including dump trucks, tractor-trailers, and roll-off trucks. The Truck Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all transportation regulations.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles, including dump trucks, trailers.
- Load and unload cargo as necessary, ensuring proper handling and securing of materials.
- Navigate assigned routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safe operating conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents that occur during transport.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered on the road.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures related to transportation.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License).
- Familiarity with loading and unloading procedures for various types of cargo.
- Experience operating different types of trucks such as dump trucks, roll-off trucks, refrigerated trailers, or similar vehicles is preferred.
- Knowledge of route driving techniques and delivery driver responsibilities.
- Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment is a plus.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to truck driving and cargo management.
