Job Summary:
Carabell Leslie & Company LLC, a full-service accounting firm with a 60-year legacy, is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting various accounting functions, including tax preparation, financial statement preparation, and client advisory services. This role offers opportunities for professional growth in a collaborative and client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Support compilation, and review engagements by preparing required documentation and working with senior accountants.
- Conduct bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
- Assist in individual and business tax preparation and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Work directly with clients to provide accounting and advisory services, ensuring their financial records meet standards.
- Maintain and update accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, ensuring data integrity and efficiency.
- Stay up to date with changes in tax laws, GAAP, and other accounting regulations.
- Support the firm’s efforts in process improvements, automation, and modernization.
Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of accounting experience (public accounting experience preferred but not required).
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, and other accounting software.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Experience in tax preparation is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred but not required.
