SRC Construction LLC is looking to hire an experienced Construction Estimator to work on projects throughout CT.
Pay: Depending on Experience
Hours: First shift, Monday-Friday (hours change depending on project)
A Construction Estimator accurately calculates project costs (materials, labor, equipment) by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and market data, preparing detailed cost estimates, and collaborating with project managers and subcontractors to ensure projects stay within budget.
- Role: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
- Responsibilities: Analyze project plans, specifications, and market conditions to determine material, labor, and equipment costs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain quotes and ensure accurate cost estimates.
- Goal: Ensure projects are completed within budget and on time.
The responsibilities of the Construction Estimator are:
- Review blueprints, specifications, and other project documents to understand project scope and requirements, and identify potential cost drivers and risks.
- Calculate material quantities and costs - Estimate labor hours and costs - Determine equipment rental and other project-related costs.
- Obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers - Negotiate pricing and terms while maintaining relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Prepare detailed cost proposals for clients and project managers - clearly communicate project costs and timelines.
- Track project costs and compare them to the original budget - identify potential cost overruns and develop mitigation strategies.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure clear understanding of project requirements and costs, and attend project meetings and provide updates on project costs.
The requirements of the Construction Estimator are:
- 5 years of experience in the Construction Estimator role.
- Degree/Certification in Construction management
- Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Proficiency in estimating software and spreadsheets.
- Ability to analyze data and identify cost trends.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $84,500.00 - $91,226.00 per year
