Carabetta is looking to hire an experienced Recertification and Compliance Specialist to work out of their Hartford CT location!!
Pay: Depending on Experience
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm
The responsibilities of the Recertification and Compliance Specialist are:
- Review/correct all resident accounts, move ins and certifications for all tax credit portfolios prior to move in, all annual certifications for tax credit portfolios before paperwork is signed
- Ensure all move in information is placed in the appropriate file and subsequent certifications
- Unit tracking for each portfolio by month to add new resident, move out residents, track specific income category for each unit
- Update information as changes occur with LIHTC program, for leasing agents/ recertification as changes occur with LIHTC program
- Quarterly/yearend reporting of the tax credit portfolio to State agencies as well as owners, complete internal audits
- Verify income eligibility for applicants and residents through agencies such as the work number; verify job systems, student clearinghouse, etc.
- Process purchase orders for payment of invoice generated from the work number, verify job systems, student clearinghouse, etc.
- Assist HUD site offices with rental, HUD/LIHTC certifications, HUD billing, questions, corrections, property administrator assistance, and training
- Assist tax credit site staff with eligibility questions, verifications, LIHTC training, repayment hearings with detailing resident accounts of monies owed etc.
- Proceed with legal action such as KAPPA notices, notice to quit possession, summary process, and court stipulation for noncompliance of the lease for failure to annually recertify
- Coordinate EIV (Enterprise Income Reporting) compliance for all designated users, prepare EIV master binder for all MOR reviews – 2768 units, and ensure EIV users are compliant with security training, rules of behavior, etc.
The requirements of the Recertification and Compliance Specialist are:
- Must have 5 years or greater of experience in project based HUD subsidy and LIHTC
- Must have minimum C10 accreditation from recognized compliance agencies
- Must have HUD accreditation - current and valid continuing education
- Must have experience reporting to monitoring agency spectrum as well as CHFA
- Must have EIV accreditation
- Degree in business/financial/accounting preferred but not required
- Must have knowledge of Fair Housing Laws as well as familiarity with HUD regulations
- Familiarity with Yardi software or similar property management systems is highly desirable.
