ROLE OVERVIEW:
Prepare saw and make adjustments as necessary for each work order using hand tools. Perform changeovers between work orders to meet specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Operates routine production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications provided.
- Assist winder operator with installation and adjustment of mandrel during setup process.
- Communicate with winder operator, keeping him/her abreast of quality concerns, equipment issues and material counts.
- Perform periodic quality checks to ensure compliance to specifications and/or COAs.
- Remove finished cores from saw drop table and manually stack them onto pallets, racks or into boxes.
- Carry out routine activities that produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.
- Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.
- Maintains logs and records of units produced.
- Report any errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
- Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
- Follow safety regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and up to 2 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge and Skills
- Capable of repeatedly lifting up to 30 lbs repetitively, occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs, 100 lbs with assistance.
- Able to work in a labor-intensive position.
- Lifting, standing, bending, twisting and stooping for up to 12 hours per day
- Ability to read various measurement equipment including tape measures, calipers and micrometers
- Ability to read and interpret work orders to understand machine setup requirements
- Willingness to follow directions and work well in a team.
- Ability to interpret and translate job specifications for production machineries.
- Fundamental understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
