At Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emotional Support Interventionist to join our team.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Develops appropriate behavioral, social, and emotional intervention strategies.
• Develops and organizes group therapy activities on a daily basis.
• Previews, selects, utilizes, and evaluates treatment materials appropriate for use with assigned age group.
• Works in collaboration with Emotional Support Teachers and Instructional Assistants.
• Assists in the development of BIPs.
• Utilizes Crisis Prevention/Intervention, the prescribed crisis continuum techniques, when appropriate.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Juvenile Justice, Social Behavior, or related field preferred but would consider Associate's Degree with minimum 1 year, preferably 3 years, of experience in fields noted.
• Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other software packages for use in the Special Programs and Services Department.
• Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, including patience, understanding, and congeniality.
• Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively with external and internal stakeholders.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, lift, reach, and communicate (vision, hearing, and speech) to effectively carry out functions, duties, and responsibilities.
• Ability to independently ambulate in and around work areas.
• Ability to travel to and from assigned work locations without employer support.
