Instructional Assistant Job Position
Job Summary
This is a supportive role working under the supervision of a classroom teacher. The Instructional Assistant will be responsible for assisting with teaching, supervising students, and completing administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with teaching responsibilities, including individual and group work
- Monitor students and maintain classroom activities
- Prepare instructional materials and assist with data collection
- Perform lifting, positioning, and transferring techniques as needed
- Assist with personal hygiene, toileting, and feeding activities
- Maintain daily attendance records and perform clerical work
- Use strategies to increase student independence
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate Degree or Highly Qualified Status preferred
- Demonstrate teamwork, confidentiality, and excellent communication skills
- Able to understand educational terminology and complete tasks with attention to detail
Working Conditions
The Instructional Assistant will have the ability to stand, bend, sit, lift, reach, and communicate effectively. They must also be able to independently ambulate in and around work areas and exhibit appropriate manual dexterity.

The Instructional Assistant will have authority to perform all functions listed below in accordance with established policies and procedures.
