Are you ready to help design our line of laserweeders that solve real problems in our food supply?

As the leader of our Hardware, you'll be responsible for driving the hardware engineering team to create, maintain and evolve products that meet the demanding needs of our customers. In addition, you'll collaborate closely with the manufacturing team to ensure that all hardware products meet quality, cost, and performance requirements across a wide variety of suppliers and assemblers. Specifically, you will;

  • Lead the mechanical and electrical engineering teams in developing, testing, releasing and supporting hardware products and systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, software engineering, product management, operations, and support, to deliver high-quality products
  • Ensure that all hardware products meet quality, cost, and performance requirements
  • Optimize product design to minimize manufacturing cost and complexity
  • Manage the hardware engineering budget, including resource allocation and project prioritization
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and partners to support hardware product development and delivery

Skills & Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 15 years of experience in hardware engineering, with at least 7 years in a leadership role
  • Strong understanding of hardware development processes, including design, testing, and manufacturing - with preference for ag-tech and/or automotive experience
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality hardware products and systems on time and within budget
  • Experience w/ product NPI through to assembly line scale
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Experience with SolidWorks, SolidWorks Electrical, SolidWorks PDM, Asana, Confluence, and the Google Suite preferred

The compensation range outlined is based on a target budgeted base salary. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as relevant experience and skill, Interview assessments and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements. Offers are determined using our equitable hiring practices. Carbon Robotics offers additional compensation in the form of benefits premiums, pre-IPO stock options and On Target Earning commissions for appropriate positions. Base pay ranges are reviewed each year. We are committed to the principle of pay equity – paying employees equitably for similar work.

Carbon Robotics' base salary pay range:

$200,000—$250,000 USD
