Job Summary:
We are seeking a Civil Engineering Intern with a passion to scale and deploy climate tech to join our team. You will play a critical role in establishing the utilization strategy for the mineralized materials in the construction industry. Your work will contribute to our mission of developing economical and scalable carbon management and resource recovery solutions.
Essential Job Functions:
- Work closely with the Research and Development team to prepare concrete and cement samples and conduct testing to establish use cases for mineralized material.
- Assist with project research, lab and field work, and preliminary material use calculations and analysis.
- Use MS Excel or other types of analytical applications to solve modeling and design related questions, perform calculations, and/or to perform logical analyses
- Assist with the preparation of calculations, technical memoranda, reports, presentations, drawings, specifications, and miscellaneous documents.
- Communicate key insights and coordinate activities with project teams including other disciplines (research and development, business development, marketing).
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (or pursuing) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Material Science, or a related field.
- Demonstrated strong aptitude for researching and solving technical problems related to construction industry
Education and Experience Preferred:
- Master’s degree (or pursuing) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Material Science, or a related field.
- 1 years of experience in working with construction material in a laboratory and/or field setting
Additional Skills and Abilities:
- Must adhere to safety protocols and practices to maintain a safe work environment.
- Must be willing to work in the lab and handle construction materials and equipment.
- Must be willing to lift up to 50 lbs to execute assigned work.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software to complete analyses and present insights.
- Must be able to work independently and effectively collaborate with team members, resolve conflicts, and maintain morale.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment, showing flexibility and pragmatism.
- Must be able to demonstrate high ethical standards and personal integrity.
