Functional Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles, and contributing to the preparation of financial statements. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Accountant include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Capital Asset Management.
- Assist in reviewing all financial transactions.
- Perform account reconciliations, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly.
- Record financial transactions.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes by preparing the necessary schedules and documentation.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Assist with budget preparation.
- Maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Focus on continuous improvement and how to make all processes more efficient and effective.
- Assist in developing and documenting financial procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Accountant, with at least 5 years of experience in accounting.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to identify areas for process improvements.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
