POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for performing nuclear stress tests and electrocardiogram tracing per Provider orders and departmental protocols.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Ensures patient?s chart is updated with all pertinent information prior to their testing appointment.
- Brings arrived patients to the Nuclear Medicine area according to the patient?s scheduled testing appointment time.
- Explains testing accurately and in detail to patients to confirm understanding and consent.
- Performs cardiac stress testing and acquires 12 lead ECG?s.
- Takes, records and monitors patient?s vital signs to include identifying and analyzing ECG abnormalities and placement of oxygen when necessary.
- Presents ECG reports and findings to Providers for sign off.
- Enters stress test findings in to EMR system and notifies the Physician of any positive findings or ECG abnormalities found during the testing process.
- Assists Nuclear Technologists with placing patients on Gamma Camera Table as needed.
- Ensures machines are continuously working properly.
- Maintains and stocks the treadmill rooms and crash cart
- Notifying office manager of any supplies needed.
- Assists other back-office departments with patients and back-office assignments when necessary.
- Assists with emergent situations and calls.
- Other duties as assigned per the need of the organization and within scope of licensure.
