POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for inquiring on patient accounts, discussing patients? financial obligations. Serve as a liaison between the patient, billing department, and insurance carrier to enhance account receivables, resolve outstanding issues or concerns on patient accounts.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Review patient accounts, identify delinquent accounts and collect overdue payments and out of pocket expenses.
- Verify patients benefits for out-of-pocket expenses.
- Verify insurance eligibility.
- Verify and update patient demographic on accounts.
- Receive and process payments for medical services rendered.
- Answer, investigate all calls or in-office inquiries related to patient?s account.
- Demonstrates proactive interpersonal communication skills.
- Maintain patient confidentiality by following HIPAA policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
