General Manager

Position Summary:
The General Manager of the Brunswick facility is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations within the production and shipping departments at this location. This includes managing the entire production line and ensuring timely fulfillment of orders, maintaining quality standards, and meeting cost and efficiency targets. The General Manager will lead cross-functional teams, optimize workflows, coordinate with other departments, and ensure that the Brunswick facility consistently delivers on output, quality, and on-time shipping commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

Facility & Operations Management:

• Oversee all daily operations at the Brunswick facility, including production scheduling, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
• Ensure the production lines (screen prep, printing, drying, packing) run smoothly, meet output targets, and maintain quality benchmarks.
• Manage warehouse layout, storage solutions, and material handling to streamline workflows and reduce errors or delays.

Production Efficiency & Cost Control:

• Work with department leads to establish and meet weekly and monthly production goals (e.g., designated number of tees or units).
• Monitor and optimize resource allocation (labor, equipment usage, raw materials) to achieve cost-saving measures and maintain budgets.
• Identify bottlenecks, implement process improvements, and introduce lean manufacturing principles where appropriate.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

• Enforce quality standards in printing, curing, folding, and packing to maintain ≤1% defect rate.
• Ensure employees follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for consistency, and conduct random quality checks.
• Comply with safety and regulatory standards (OSHA, labor laws) and maintain a safe, clean work environment.

Shipping & Fulfillment:

• Oversee the timely and accurate picking, packing, and shipping of all orders to meet on-time delivery commitments.
• Coordinate with the Shipping team to minimize errors, reduce shipping costs, and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Implement measures to keep inventory variance ≤2% and minimize stockouts or overstock situations.

Team Leadership & Development:

• Directly manage supervisors and leads in production, screen prep, and shipping areas, setting clear performance expectations.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and recommend training or professional development opportunities for staff.
• Foster a positive work culture built on safety, teamwork, open communication, and continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional Coordination:

• Collaborate with the VP of Operations and other senior managers to align facility output with sales forecasts, marketing promotions, and product launches.
• Communicate regularly with Purchasing to ensure adequate supplies and raw materials for upcoming production runs.
• Provide Operations and Leadership teams with weekly/monthly reports on productivity, cost performance, quality, and staffing needs.

Data-Driven Decision Making:

• Use data analytics and KPI dashboards to monitor production efficiency, unit costs, error rates, and delivery times.
• Adjust staffing, shift schedules, or production processes based on real-time feedback and performance metrics.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

• Lead improvement projects that enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, or increase margins.
• Stay informed about industry best practices, new equipment, and technology solutions that can elevate facility performance.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
• 5 years of experience managing a manufacturing, distribution, or fulfillment center, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Technical Skills:

• Familiarity with production planning, inventory control, and quality assurance techniques.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems, warehouse management software, and basic analytics tools (e.g., Excel).
• Understanding of lean manufacturing, 5S, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
