What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Associate position at Cardinal Biocraft?
Our Mission
We aim to accelerate the transition to sustainable bio-manufacturing of molecules that improve lives. By integrating synthetic biology, machine learning, and automation, we engineer microbes to enable rapid prototyping and scalable production.
About the Role
We are seeking a Research Associate to support strain prototyping through our strain engineering platform. This platform combines algorithm-assisted design of enzymes and pathways, highly efficient genetic part assembly, robust genome editing, and high-throughput screening to create optimized microbial strains. You will collaborate closely with machine learning engineers, synthetic biologists, and bioinformaticians to integrate and advance platform capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers to deliver microbial strains within specified timelines.
- Developing and implementing high-throughput screening workflows for enzyme and pathway engineering.
- Assembling DNA parts, editing microbial genomes, and sequencing genetic modifications.
- Cultivating engineered microbes at small scales and extracting metabolites.
- Analyzing genotypic and phenotypic data.
