English Coach, New York (URGENT HIRE) - Part-Time Position with Guaranteed Hours

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Academic Coaching and Mentoring                                      

• Become one-on-one academic mentors for students by providing the support they need in various subject and/or test prep areas
• Complete our comprehensive training programs that equip you to successfully:
  • Identify students’ unique strengths and weaknesses
  • Build students’ curiosity and confidence in their own abilities
  • Change students’ lives by reducing stress and guiding them through academic struggles

REQUIREMENTSEligibility

• Proficiency in multiple humanities subject areas at a high-school level.
• Ability to commit to half-time tutoring for at least 1 year
• Availability at least 3 hours per week
• Ability and availability to work weekends in person with the family on short notice.
  • The specifics of this arrangement will be discussed during the interview process. 
• Ability to provide in-person tutoring in Bronxville, New York.
  • Travel time may be compensated based on managerial discretion.

Experience

• Experience tutoring high school students in English and History.
  • Minimum 1 year of tutoring in a formal capacity 

Education

• At least a Bachelor’s degree completed from a top 20 nationally accredited university.
  • Preferred Master’s degree or higher 

Knowledge and Skills

• A high level of energy and sociability.
• Exceptional writing ability.
• Ability to design reading, grammar, and analytical writing curricula.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a broad spectrum of executives, students, and other coaches.
• Ability to work independently yet dutifully within company pedagogy and processes.
• Apply relentless dedication to delivering results.
• Drive to help cultivate student thinking so that students become well-rounded and no longer need coaching

BENEFITS

• Guaranteed pay for 8 hours weekly, regardless of number of hours used by the client. 
  • The median range for this position is from $100 to $200.
• Completion bonus.
