Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida has an opening for a qualified ESE/ Academic/ Testing Coordinator. This candidate must be an ESE teacher who is passionate about teaching exceptional students and proficient in strategies that facilitate learning for students with learning disabilities. The coordinator must be familiar with developing IEP's or ILP's as he/she will be responsible for developing Individualized Learning Plans (ILP's) with parents and teachers. The coordinator will also facilitate high school testing schoolwide, such as PSAT, Pre-ACT, and ACT. The candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Exceptional Student Education or related field.
- Master's Degree in Exceptional Student Education or related field.
- Florida Department of Education ESE teaching certificate, temporary or professional required.
- Minimum of 3 years or more teaching students with varying exceptionalities and/or cognitive/developmental disabilities.
- Effective communication skills, with excellent oral and written English.
- Strong presentation skills with instructional technologies.
- Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficient in strategies to teach students with learning disabilities.
- Ability to teach a multi-grade level classroom.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Must be supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.
- Knowledge of basic tenets of Roman Catholic Church.
- Professional demeanor.
