Quality Control Technician

Job Summary | The Quality Control Technician is responsible for the quality and fabrication of high-quality Insulated Glass for Residential Window & Door Manufacturers. You will be working with our team to achieve daily production goals, and to provide superior quality, and service, to both internal and external customers.

Essential Functions |

• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety practices and guidelines
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Operate High Tech Glass Fabrication Equipment
• Foster strong relationships with our production customer to drive a quality improvement culture.
• Ability to keep sensitive information confidential and maintain professionalism
• Inspect product for quality to meet or exceed Cardinal and customer expectations
• Responsible for calibration of all equipment and updating the calibration log
• Brainstorming and idea coordination/out-of-the-box thinking
• Attend classroom trainings to enhance skills
• Completion of routine product and process audits in support of the BEIG quality control plan
• Basic statistical analysis, root cause analysis of quality and/or production problems
• Quality specification interpretation
• Coordination with other Quality Techs, Production Personnel, and Production Managers on quality-related concerns
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail
• Willingness to seek out additional roles and responsibilities within your department
• Reliability is crucial to the overall success of the operation
• Flexibility - may be required to work overtime to meet customer deadlines
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Scheduled work hours will follow production work schedules, with exceptions for training purposes or necessary adjustments to be determined in cooperation with the Quality Manager.

Workplace Environment |

• Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and potentially sharp objects
• Noise level can be high and will vary based on location in the plant

Prior Experience |

• Solid Work History, Manufacturing or warehousing experience preferred but not required
• High School Equivalent, or Related Work Experience
• Self-Motivated / Career-Minded / Punctual / Dependable / Patient
• Constructive and effective communication as necessary
• Above average math skills and able to read a tape measure
• Able to use Micrometer and Caliper /SPC
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications / Moderate computer skills

Physical Demands | Vision Hearing Occasionally stand/walk for extended time Occasionally grip up to 40lbs Occasionally bend to floor/reach to 72 inches Occasionally push/pull up to 35lbs Occasionally lift/carry up to 46lbs Occasionally use hand coordination (fine/gross motor)

Shift & Pay |

Shift: 2nd Shift Monday-Friday 2:30 PM- 11:00 PM

2nd Shift: $17.50 $1.00 Shift Differential = $18.50/hour

Bonus - Potential Monthly Profit Sharing for all Shifts
