What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Worker position at Cardinal Hayes Home for Children?
Cardinal Hayes Home for Children is seeking a motivated and reliable Maintenance Worker to join our team in Millbrook and surrounding areas. We are a not-for-profit agency providing residential care and treatment for young people who are developmentally disabled.
In this role, your primary responsibility will be painting and general maintenance of the buildings and grounds . You will also be responsible for transporting all agency vehicles for maintenance and repair including lawn care, installing fixtures, replacing windows, other basic carpentry and handy work, as well as snow removal in the winter.
Schedule: Typically Sunday – Thursday from 8am–4:30pm, but you must be available to work after hours if needed for snow removal in the winter.
Requirements:
- 2 years of property/ facility maintenance experience is desired
- Basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical skills is required
- Must be able to operate lawn maintenance equipment, such as mowers, weed wackers, leaf and snow blowers
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation during the winter.
- Ability to lift over 50 lbs. without limitations, bending, stretching and reaching, included.
- Must be able to work on-call, after hours for snow removal as needed during the winter.
Pay: $19.78-$24.36 per hour, based on experience
