Job Description:
The Technician II, Health Systems Pharmacy assists pharmacists in filling prescription orders, prepares medication for dispensing, packaging, and shipment, and takes inventory, places orders, checks in drugs and supplies, stocks shelves, and removes out-of-date items from the inventory.
This role also involves communicating with all customers (patients, clinics, caregivers, physicians) in an amicable and professional manner, processing returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction, and maintaining knowledge of and abiding by all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should have a high school degree or equivalent, Mississippi state pharmacy technician license or ability to obtain license, National pharmacy technician certification (PTCB) preferred, prior pharmacy technician experience in an Inpatient/Hospital/LTAC environment preferred, IV experience preferred, excellent customer service skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and demonstrated ability to use technology such as computers, smart phones, and tablets.
