Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support and assistance to individuals facing various life challenges. This role involves working closely with patients in a hospital setting, utilizing therapeutic techniques to promote mental health and well-being. The Social Worker will engage in crisis intervention, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Duties
- Conduct assessments to identify patients' needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide crisis intervention and support during inpatient stays.
- Utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to assist patients in managing their mental health.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate care and services for patients.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations while documenting patient interactions and treatment progress.
- Implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies for patients requiring special education support.
- Advocate for patients' rights and access to necessary resources within the healthcare system.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Educate patients and families about available resources, coping strategies, and community services.
Experience
- A degree in Social Work or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Experience working in an inpatient hospital setting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with ICD-9 coding is beneficial for documentation purposes.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and special education practices is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective patient interaction.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment while maintaining professionalism.
