Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
Essential Duties: Coordinate inbound and outbound loads with drivers through window.Interpret and validate accuracy of receiving documentation. Coordinate dock door traffic with yard hostler. Communicate specific loading/unloading needs to forklift drivers and floor supervisors.Calculate Forklift Load/Unload sheets and validate all required documentation has been filled out correctly. Prepare and validate all shipping and receiving Bills of Lading in a timely and accurate manner. Verify and maintain complete records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Run end of shift reports and verify accuracy with Inventory Management System entries. Maintain Yard/Dock management system. Responsible for online confirmation of scheduled loads and overall management of load schedule. Keep immediate work area tidy and free of excessive paperwork. Communicate with carriers and customers via telephone, email, and customer web interface

Must be able to fill out bills of lading Must be familiar with proper packaging methods and able to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements. Skills/Experience/Education: High School diploma or equivalent. One year of warehouse/dispatch related experience in shipping and receiving. Required to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math. Bilingual is a plus. Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, 10 key Typing speed 40-50 WPM Must be able to multi-task Highly developed sense of organization and attention to detail Good communication skills Able to keep up with work in a fast paced environment Ability to adapt to multiple scheduling web interfacesPhysical Demands: Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time. Able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis. Able to use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements. May be required to sit at a desk or computer for long periods
