What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mobile Technician (Yard) Truck/Trailer position at Cardinal Logistics Management?
Pay based on experience. $1500.00 Sign-On Bonus.
Job Summary:
The Technician will troubleshoot and repair all tractor/trailer systems as well as preventative maintenance services and major component replacements. They will do triage on equipment and repair or send to an outside vendor for repair. Must have computer skills and good driving record. Most work will be outside.
Essential Functions:
- Read job order, observes and listens to truck in operation to determine and to plan work procedures.
- Must be proficient in troubleshooting and repairing the following systems: electrical, air conditioning, heating, steering and suspensions.
- Must be able to perform front-end alignment and replace transmissions, clutches, differentials, brakes, suspension parts and other components as instructed.
- Examines protective guards, loose bolts and specified safety devices on trucks and makes adjustments.
- Performs PM inspections and makes repairs as necessary.
- Ability and knowledge to perform a through FHWA inspection.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Has brake certification on file.
- Minimum of three years of documented experience repairing Class 8 equipment.
- Two years of DOT preventive maintenance inspections and two years minimum of brake inspections on trucks.
- Valid driver’s license required, CDL is preferred.
- Ability to read a limited number of two to three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between a series of numbers.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and use division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exist.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
