Summary/Objective
The quality specialist position inspects materials and products, parts and components for quality and conformance to specifications.
Essential Functions

- Examines material or product for surface defects such as cracks, pits, and incomplete welds, among other non-conformances and findings to supervisors for corrective action.
- Performs all types of inspections, such as incoming, first article, in-process, and final.
- Compiles quality records.
- Assisting production departments in determining the dispositioning of defective items in-house and the Purchasing Department on defective product from outside vendors.
- Works with engineering on any problems discovered on blueprints and bill-of-materials and working with the Industrial Engineer on discrepancies with routers.
- Takes care of equipment calibration requirements for various departments.
- Uses measuring equipment such as optical comparator, Cadillac gauge, surf tester, and tri-mics, as well as reading blueprints, height gauges, and doing basic math.

Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Associate degree or equivalent experience
- Two (2) years of manufacturing experience in Quality Control or similar job function
