Activities Director
Duties:
- Plan, organize, and coordinate a variety of activities and programs for residents in a nursing home or assisted living facility.
- Develop and implement engaging activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being for senior residents.
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and staff to assess individual needs and preferences.
- Provide dementia care and memory care activities to support residents with cognitive impairments.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for residents.
- Organize and oversee events, outings, and social gatherings.
- Provide counseling on aging issues and assist with problem-solving related to senior care.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress.
Skills:
- Experience in nursing home or assisted living settings.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Knowledge of senior care principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with dementia care techniques and memory care programs.
- Strong event planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to provide counseling on aging issues and assist with problem-solving.
- Understanding of social work principles in a healthcare setting.
