What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursing Assistant position at Cardinal Senior Living - Roanoke?
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse
- Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Assist with medical procedures, including phlebotomy and suturing
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Document patient information accurately and timely
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a nursing assistant training program
- Current certification as a nursing assistant (CNA)
- Knowledge of medical office procedures and patient service principles
- Familiarity with anatomy and physiology
- Experience with IV infusion and primary care is a plus
- Ability to provide compassionate care to patients in hospice settings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
