MINIMUM NUSES ASSISTANT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- State Approved PCA certificate from an accredited institution in Virginia or have successfully completed the state approved direct care certification course
- Previous experience with the geriatric field is preferred.
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Must be able to communicate effectively with Residents, families, co- workers, community officials, state officials, and general public
- Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly
- Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions) with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
- This position requires good attendance (reliability) in order to provide quality care for our residents
- Must be of good character
- Be physically and mentally capable of carrying out assigned responsibilities
- Be considerate and respectful of the rights, dignity, and sensitivities of aged and disabled persons
- Be clean and well groomed
- Meet all requirements for background checks
As a Personal Care Assistant your responsibilities would include:
- Assisting residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, (hair care, oral care, and nail care), toileting, changing of bed linens as needed, positioning, transfers, mobility, and incontinence care
- Assisting Residents with mobility as needed
- Performing nail care on residents
- Monitoring residents
- Feeding residents as needed
- Documenting performed care daily
- Communicating changes in resident’s condition to Designated Charge Person
- Monitoring vital signs
- Assisting with cleaning as needed
- Assisting with meal delivery as needed
- Performing activities and socializing with residents
- Accompanying resident to and from medical appointments as needed
- Encouraging good hydration by filling up water/ice pitchers every shift and as needed
- Meeting customer service standards by exhibiting a friendly, helpful, courteous demeanor and with resident satisfaction a top priority
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
