Essential Functions- Job Duties : The following duties are considered essential to the job. Qualified individuals must have the ability, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform the following duties :
Operates the community in a manner which will ensure company profitability by meeting all community budget and census guidelines as set by Cardinal Senior Living.
Participation in weekly meetings. Must be prepared to discuss in detail AR issues, budget, census, including waitlist, prospective residents and rent rate for the future residents in question.
Works with the Admissions Coordinator to follow up any potential new residents within 24 hours of referral.
Works with Admissions Coordinator to schedule and complete tours, keeping in contact with any referral sources progressing towards admissions.
Complete all monthly billing requirements (CMH, waiver, model payments).
Maintain resident funds, per regulation.
Follow up on account receivable concerns.
Actively manages and leads the community team including ongoing recruiting, interviewing and retention of staff.
Performs staff performance reviews, disciplinary action, and documentation of terminations.
Maintain strong personnel relations and employee morale
Ensures program planning, development, and implementation of services to residents is consistent with the home’s Program Statement and in accordance with the residents’ service plans and agreements.
Responsible for employee competency in reporting requirements, first aide, medication administration (if applicable), personal care, residents’ rights & responsibilities, safety & fire prevention, containment of communicable diseases & standard precautions.
Assures the home maintains an organized program to provide room and board, protection, supervision, assistance, and supervised personal care for the residents.
Assures the availability of emergency medical care required by a resident.
Responsible for the overall conduct and operation of the home.
Ensures the home has a written resident admission contract, program statement, admission & discharge policy, and a service plan for each resident.
Implements and maintains a quality review program for evaluating incidents, ensuring resident safety & quality of care, and improving procedures.
Ensure each shift has a shift supervisor when required by state regulations.
Assures compliance with state rules, regulations, and standards.
Communicates effectively and appropriately with regulatory personnel, agencies, and referral sources.
Complete all assigned duties that may change from time to time according to resident needs, staffing levels, working circumstances and Cardinal Senior Living directives.
Education & Knowledge Requirements- Specific education, certification, and licensure :
High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Nursing Administration highly preferred.
Leadership experience within a senior living environment required.
Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
Must comply with all State and Federal mandated training and / or certification programs for the position of Executive Director.
Must have an understanding of budgeting, financial record keeping and reporting, appropriate State and Federal regulations, operational systems and procedures and must be able to apply that understanding to ensure the smooth operation of the community.
Proven ability to lead teams and develop people.
Executive Directors in HFA must be familiar with MCL 333 Part 201 and Part 213, and the applicable rules from the Bureau of Fire Safety.
Ability to handle multiple priorities / tasks effectively and delegate responsibilities to the appropriate individuals.
Valid driver license
Minimum of 18 years of age.
