Cardinal Staffing is immediately hiring a Accounting Clerk for a large, well-known manufacturing client in Roseville, MI.
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for supporting the accounting department by performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks. This role ensures accurate financial record-keeping, processes transactions, and assists in maintaining compliance with company and regulatory standards.
1st shift Available start time 6am. Occasional overtime is available.
Pay up to $22/hr depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, payments, and receipts, ensuring timely and accurate recording in the accounting system.
- Data Entry: Enter financial data into the company’s accounting software with precision and attention to detail.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, including filing invoices, receipts, and other documents.
- Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling bank statements, credit card statements, and other accounts as needed.
- Reporting: Prepare basic financial reports and summaries for review by management or senior accounting staff.
- Communication: Coordinate with vendors, customers, and internal departments to resolve invoice or payment discrepancies.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative assistance to the accounting team, such as organizing files and scheduling tasks.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. An associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or clerical role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Basic knowledge of bookkeeping principles and financial transactions.
- Attention to Detail: Strong accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with ERP systems or manufacturing accounting processes.
- Knowledge of payroll processing and basic tax regulations.
- Experience in handling confidential financial information.
