WE MANUFACTURE FUN!! Cardinal Systems Inc. is one of the nation's largest technologically advanced manufacturers of galvanized steel walls for in-ground swimming pools. In addition to steel walls, we manufacture steel steps and benches, aluminum coping, liner track, deck drains, liner bead and other custom fabrications.

Attentiveness on further development of the Safety Culture within all facilities, establishing a Safety Criteria that includes, training (onsite and off), develops and sustains a culture where Safety is paramount to other tasks with emphasis on the risks and rewards within a compliant Safety environment.
Essential Functions of our Safety Coordinators:

Responsible for maintaining and updating the Safety Protocols within the corporate Safety program
including all aspects of the OSHA work rules as they apply to the Cardinal manufacturing facilities & FPSS. -
Responsible for maintaining and updating all corporate safety training, new employee safety orientation
and supervisor safety training. -
Maintain knowledge of current laws as they apply to Cardinal & FPSS through reading, training seminars,
and workshops as necessary. - Responsible for updating and maintaining SDS's for all facilities.

Responsible for fully understanding and following all Safety rules and procedures reviewing quarterly for
compliance, thoroughness, accuracy and being current with existing standards within the Safety industry. -
Maintain an active Safety Committee by working with all employees to uphold a positive safety culture
while ensuring audits are conducted thoroughly and in a timely manner. Responsible for ensuring the
corporate Safety Committee has received its annual training certification allowing for the 5% reduction in
premiums with our workers comp carrier (Eastern Alliance) - Oversight of the corporate forklift training / certification program

Responsible for compliance reporting and maintaining all appropriate documentation with accuracy and
thoroughness. Ex; environmental, OSHA, any required state reporting. -
Conducts proper investigation of all accidents, lost workdays, dangerous occurrences, near misses,
property damage, and forklift incidents. While analyzing data for potential problem areas and calculating
a course of action to help prevent future accidents/incidents. -
Develops and participates in health and Safety meetings for supervisors. Ensures proper techniques are
utilized in conveying Safety messages within the depts. -
Responsible to ensure all fire and emergency equipment is maintained. Annual visits conducted by local
fire depts to further assist in facility compliance. -
Working closely with management to review ergonomic issues in each department and research new
methods to prevent future issues. - Knowledge of D.O.T. guidelines, regulations, and requirements for in-house trucks.
- Manage active and re-certification of in-house First responders and First Aid.
- Responsible for ensuring a safe system of work procedures (JSA's) for all jobs / equipment.

Responsible for monitoring and track departmental Safety performance by submitting a report monthly
to each senior management member for each facility. -
Monitor and review existing standards by making suggestions that will further improve safety while
demonstrating the ability to be open minded and receptive to new concepts or procedures. -
Provide the safest possible workplace to our employees by modeling and enforcing all company safety
policies & procedures, ensure proper wearing of PPE, reporting accident/incident/near misses/unsafe
conditions, conducting investigations, involvement in developing corrective actions, actively participate
in safety committee, and conducting safety audits in a positive and engaging manner.
Qualifications for a Safety Coordinator
- College degree (Bachelor's) in Environmental Studies / Occupational Health and Safety / Safety Management
- Successfully completed the OSHA 10 and 30
- Previous experience in safety preferred
- Previous experience interacting with OSHA preferred
- Experienced handling hazardous materials (HAZWOPER) preferred
- CPR/First Aid Certification required
- Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
Mainly 1st shift - 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (M-F) but will need to be flexible if Safety Coordinator is needed to attend to a 2nd or 3rd shift need or concern.
