Cardinal Therapy Group is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable High School Athletic Trainer to provide comprehensive care and support for our student-athletes. The Athletic Trainer will work closely with coaches, athletes, and parents to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all students involved in school athletics. This position requires a passionate individual with strong communication skills, a deep understanding of sports medicine, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Injury Prevention & Assessment:
- Conduct pre-season and in-season injury assessments.
- Provide injury prevention programs, including stretching and conditioning routines.
- Identify and treat athletic injuries promptly and appropriately during practices, games, and events.
- First Aid and Immediate Care:
- Provide first aid and immediate injury management during athletic events.
- Administer emergency care when necessary, and determine the need for medical referrals.
- Rehabilitation:
- Develop and implement injury rehabilitation programs for student-athletes.
- Work with injured athletes to monitor recovery and ensure safe return-to-play decisions.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate with coaches to monitor the physical status of athletes and suggest modifications to training as necessary.
- Maintain communication with athletes' parents or guardians regarding injuries and recovery progress.
- Work with school physicians, other medical professionals, and athletic staff to provide comprehensive care for injured athletes.
- Education & Prevention:
- Educate athletes on injury prevention, proper conditioning, nutrition, and other health-related topics.
- Stay up-to-date on current sports medicine trends, treatment protocols, and best practices.
- Event Coverage:
- Attend athletic events, practices, and games as required.
- Be available to provide coverage for special events such as tournaments and sports camps.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or a related field.
- Certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
- State licensure as an Athletic Trainer (if applicable).
- Strong knowledge of sports injuries, rehabilitation techniques, and emergency response protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work in a dynamic environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry equipment, and respond quickly to athletic injuries on the field or court.
- Ability to stand, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time during events and practices.
