What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodial/Facilities Technician position at Cardinal?
Cardinal FG, a float glass manufacturer for residential windows in Portage, is looking for Custodial/Facilities Technicians who will keep the workplace clean by working safely, having a strong work ethic, being dependable, having a positive attitude, and working effectively in a manufacturing environment.
The Custodial/Facilities Technician works an 8-hour shift to keep the plant tidy and orderly by taking stock of cleaning supplies and completing the cleaning responsibilities listed below throughout their workday and any additional needs. The technician will have a general schedule of daily areas to clean and will need to complete this before the end of their workday. The technician is responsible for the safety of other employees by ensuring areas are properly sanitized and cleaning up any spills or messes that pose a safety concern.
The application must show previous commercial cleaning or housekeeping work history.
Requirements:
- Previous cleaning experience with a high standard for cleanliness
- Excellent attendance record
- High school diploma or its equivalent, preferred
- Have a clear understanding of the English language, both written and spoken
- Knowledge of sanitary practices
- Understand how to safely clean-up bloodborne pathogen spills
- Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions
- Reliable transportation
- Must be 18 years of age to apply
- Ability to safely lift to 50 pounds
- Pass a pre-employment physical ability test, background and drug screen
