What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Sous Chef position at Cardinale du Vin?
We’re looking for a Jr. Sous Chef to join our small, no-cook kitchen at a wine-centric, French-inspired bistro. If you have experience working with raw seafood, French cuisine, and creative menu development, this is a great opportunity to refine our current menu and collaborate on new dishes.
What You'll Do:- Prepare crudo, oysters, sandwiches, small apps, entrees and salads with precision and creativity
- Work within an established program while contributing new ideas
- Maintain organization, cleanliness, and strong food cost awareness
- Engage with customers and FOH team (25-50% of the time)
- Have a basic knowledge of wine, beer, and pairings
- Self-starter who thrives in an evolving kitchen environment
- Reliable, consistent, and detail-oriented
- Ability to think iteratively with continuous improvement and comfortable in a dynamic environment
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
