What are the responsibilities and job description for the LPN position at Cardiology Associates of Altoona LLP?

Seeking an individual with excellent oral and written communication skills who is highly organized and can handle a high volume of calls. Would prefer an experienced triage phone professional, but will train. Additionally, candidate should have either a valid LPN license for the state of Pennsylvania or be a Registered Nurse (RN). This position does offer some flexibility with scheduling.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Answering phone calls from patients, addressing their needs effectively and in timely manner. Answering messages left by patients in a timely manner
- Assess walk in patients and address their concerns
- Using knowledge and good judgement when offering advice and consulting with a Physician about the patient’s issues i.e., medication questions, test results, cardiac clearance approval, symptom related phone calls, execution of orders, etc.
- Documenting appropriately and accurately in patient chart
- Filling prescriptions as specified in the patient’s chart.
- Supporting department personnel
- Refer patients to other facilities including making appointments, forwarding documentation, and notifying patients.
- End of day protocol
Additionally, candidates must demonstrate excellent critical thinking skills, be attentive to patient's needs/concerns, and be able to execute physician orders in a timely manner.
