Cardiology Associates of New Brunswick (CANB) is seeking a full-time Nuclear Medicine Technologist for our brand-new location opening Spring 2025.
CANB is one of the oldest practices in New Jersey and has served the Central Jersey community for 80 years, providing a full range of office and hospital-based services.
Qualifications : Required :
- Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
- Must possess a current NJ State license.
- ARRT and / or NMTCB
- BLS certification required
Preferred :
Duties include :
Assists the nuclear physician(s) with the implementation of special imaging procedures.
Abides by standards established by the facility, state and federal regulatory agencies.
Assures that all tests are performed properly and test results are valid and accurate prior to the release of the patient.
Calibrates the dose calibrator and performs QC procedures on gamma cameras per departmental protocols and notifies the lead tech of any malfunctions / issues promptly.
Explains the procedure to the patient clearly including wait times and performs the procedure assuring maximum comfort to the patient. Obtains best possible images by using prescribed technical parameters and techniques..
Performs all hot lab related functions such as receiving, using and discarding of Radio-pharmaceuticals following / applying vendor, departmental and DEP rules and regulations strictly.
Maintain and clean equipment.
Additional duties as required.
Practice highlights :
11 physicians and 4 nurse practitioners. Four interventional cardiologists and two electrophysiologists. A member of the RWJPhysician Enterprise, RWJBarnabas Health.
Location with access to NYC and Philadelphia and multiple desirable communities from which to choose to live.
RWJUH is a quaternary hospital and the major teaching hospital of RWJ Medical School. It offers cutting edge cardiac transplantation / heart failure, structural heart, electrophysiology, cardiac imaging, and interventional cardiology programs
The practice is highly regarded, and its physicians have leadership roles including clinical chief of cardiology at RWJUH, assistant director of the cardiac catheterization lab, and membership on the hospital board of directors.
