What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nuclear Medicine Technologist position at CARDIOLOGY OF ATLANTA, P.C?
Our cardiology practices is looking for a trained nuclear technician able to prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals under the supervision of the authorized user and operate a gamma camera to produce images of the perfusion of the heart.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviews Physician's order and obtains pertinent medical information to identify type of exam required
- Handles, calibrates, and administers radioactive materials to patients in accordance with accepted safety procedures
- Explains procedure to patient
- Selects equipment protocol, positions patient, and modifies factors as necessary
- Obtains images, processes test and reviews results with physician
- Calibrates instruments daily
- Keeps appropriate records for policy and procedures to maintain RAM license
- Practices proper ALARA safety techniques
License of Certification Required:
- Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
- Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Board or registered as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist through American Registry of Radiological Technologist
- Certified in Basic Life Support
