Essential Responsibilities
- Monitor and motivate patients during rehabilitative exercise sessions to ensure progress and safety (40%).
- Design individualized exercise programs for patients based on their medical history and fitness levels (15%).
- Track and document patient progress and health statistics such as blood pressure, heart rate, and EKGs (15%).
- Ensure patient attendance and follow up as needed to promote engagement in the ICR program (10%).
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to review patient progress and update treatment plans (10%).
- Compile patient results for review by the Medical Director and team (10%).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field.
- Master’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field (preferred).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional (CCRP) certification required within 6 months for all levels.
- Participation in Pritikin ICR Deep Dive, Remote Training, and Team Training
- Exercise Physiologist I: Entry-level position requiring minimal experience. Ideal for recent graduates or those with less than 2 years of experience in cardiac rehabilitation.
- Exercise Physiologist II: Requires 2-3 years of experience in cardiac rehabilitation and demonstrated ability to work independently with patients.
- Exercise Physiologist III: Requires 5 years of experience in cardiac rehabilitation and advanced knowledge of exercise physiology. Ideal for individuals with extensive clinical expertise in cardiac care.
