JOB OVERVIEW: Cardiology Nurse Practitioner
Cardiovascular Institute of Northwest Florida is a 9 Physician and 7 Nurse Practitioner group located in Panama City and Panama City Beach, Florida. The institute has been serving the people of Bay County, Florida and surrounding counties for over 40 years.
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Cardiology Nurse Practitioner with a specialization in heart failure to join our team of healthcare professionals. As a critical member of our healthcare team, the successful candidate will provide exceptional care and treatment to patients performing physical examinations, ordering diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans and prescribing drugs or other therapies. The Nurse Practitioner may also plan, direct or coordinate medicine and health services in the local hospital.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with heart failure
- Develop, implement, and manage individualized treatment plans for patients and coordinating with attending physicians
- Prescribes medications and therapies as needed
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly both via clinic visits and with a remote monitoring dashboard
- Assist in collecting patient histories, screen for co-morbidities, and provide guidance and preventative health care as needed
- Orders appropriate laboratory, diagnostic, and radiographic tests, and interprets results
- Facilitate patient education relating to medical processes, medication, nutrition, and health promotion or preventative healthcare
- Prepare and care for supplies and equipment
- Respond to emergency situations
- Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records
- Perform within the scope of practice prescribed by licensure and certification
- Screen and refer for implanted cardiac device implants
- Perform assessments of volume status and decide on IV diuretic treatment when needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current Florida Licensure as a Registered Nurse
- Current Florida Licensure as an APRN-NP
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certified
- Prefer 1 year of experience in Cardiology
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of cardiovascular conditions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
