What are the responsibilities and job description for the Telemetry Technician - Weekend Day (FSS 7 am - 7 pm) position at Cardiovascular Institute of the South?
Nature of Duties:
The nature of the duties is to monitor cardiac rhythms for abnormalities, including critical or severe alerts, formalize end of summary reports, and communicate/forward findings to the appropriate provider. Other duties and responsibilities include assisting the rhythm management department team with capturing remote pacemaker/ICD (defibrillator)/ILR/ICM checks and processing Holter monitor results. This will include communication of device information to and from all CIS clinics and providers.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma.
- NCCT-NCET, CCT or CRAT certification within 1 year of employment start
- 2 yrs of experience in the Cardiology field preferred
- Preferred completion of certified medical program (LPN, MA, Telemetry, etc.)
Telemetry Services
- Process, analyze, interpret, and edit EKG data from Mobile Telemetry/Looping Event Monitors/Holter monitors placed on CIS patients.
- Utilize established protocols and notification guidelines to recognize cardiac rhythm abnormalities/symptoms and clearly communicate with CIS providers.
- Possess good communication skills and facilitates open dialogue with CIS offices/providers, and patients regarding critical, serious, or non-critical events.
- Act as an educational resource for CIS clinical and non-clinical personnel, administration, providers, and patients regarding services and monitor utilization.
- Participate and facilitate as needed notification of Emergency Services for patient safety and to improve patient outcomes when Critical rhythm disturbances are identified and patient contact cannot be established.
- Accurately documents actions/implementation/plan of care/patient responses for completion within the EHR/medical record.
- Works closely with Business Services department to assure and facilitate billing services is complete, timely, and accurate.
- Obtain the hospital device implant record/post op hospital record.
- Log all the device patients in database, when receiving implant record.
- Coordinate and manage patients in the Paceart (software) database as well as integrating and managing documents of patients in multi-vendor websites.
- Monitor and coordinate appointments with providers from all clinics on patients with ERI (elective replacement indicator) battery status.
- Perform telephonic pacemaker checks and remote checks of any device (multi-vendor).
- Schedule in-office and remote device check appointments for patients in practice management software.
- Manage inquiries via email or EMR from all CIS clinics about patients with implanted devices.
- Participate in patient communication regarding compliance with upcoming or missed remote device checks by utilizing the Paceart software system.
- Familiar with EKG cardiac rhythm recognition including basic arrhythmias, such as, atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, pauses, brady or tachy arrhythmias or a discovery of device elective replacement indicator (ERI).
