LifeSpan Pharmacy, a CarDon Associates partner, is now hiring a Pharmacy Technician. Weekly pay and great benefits!
Must be licensed and have order entry experience, shifts of 11 : 30am-8pm and 10 : 30am-7pm with a shift differential. Duties are entering new and refill medications, admitting new patients, light billing duties, answering calls (mainly from nurses about patient medications), and triaging orders as they come in to our system.
Prior pharmacy experience and a Pharmacy Technician Certification are required.Must be currently licensed in the state of Indiana. Must be able to work every third weekend rotation as well as holidays. Weekly pay!
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, CREDENTIALS :
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Prior pharmacy experience and a Pharmacy Technician Certification are required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
FILLING PRESCRIPTIONS (80%)Dispense medications while observing proper handling precautionsDispense medications in proper container based on facility expectationsVerify that all medications reflected on the delivery receipt accompany the order to the delivery departmentFill prescription’s within established time frame, assisting other pharmacy staff when neededPrepare compounding medications with use of pharmacy scales, compound pads, jars, etc.Complete compounding records by filling out lot numbers and expiration datesGenerate labels and / or delivery receiptsCount and sort prescriptions for those facilities participating in the anniversary programPrepare appropriate logs for tracking monthly accuracyEnsure Euclid packing machine is cleaned and maintained according to proceduresPackage bulk meds into unit dose on a priority type basis and as neededDaily review of medication and supply stock with responsibility to reorder through the purchasing departmentPeriodic review of medication bins to assure that correct medication is in correct binMonthly review of all medications for expiration dating. Fast moving items should be reviewed on a daily basisCLEANING / STATION SET-UP (10%)Clean and maintain area on a daily basis. This includes using alcohol on surface areasTake out trash and / or cardboardSweep area as neededStock filling stations with the necessary supplies (boxes, vials, forms, baggies, reorder slips, etc.)III. OTHER DUTIES (10%)
Participate in education on other areas (i.e. IV’s, credits / returns, etc.)Examination of medications and supplies returned for credit to assure expiration dating and lack of tamperingParticipate in departmental quality assurance activities as requestedAttend designated departmental meetings as scheduledMandatory quarterly physical inventoryKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
