The Role :
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Manager, IT Experience to join our IT Operations team. Reporting to the Director of IT Operations, you will have a diverse and impactful role, leading the helpdesk support function, managing employee onboarding and offboarding process and experience, overseeing computer builds, and assisting with critical training initiatives. Additionally, you will serve as the primary US-based IT contact for our Japan-based lab, managing the relationship with the Managed Service Provider (MSP) and ensuring a seamless connection between our US and Japan offices. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining optimal IT operations across locations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical troubleshooting skills, a proactive mindset, and a passion for providing exceptional service.
Here’s What You’ll Do :
- Lead and manage the helpdesk support function, acting as the main point of contact for all IT support inquiries.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, guides, and manuals for internal reference and troubleshooting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly, ensuring minimal downtime for employees.
- Assemble, configure, and deploy new computers and IT devices for employees, ensuring that all necessary software, security protocols, and configurations are in place.
- Maintain an inventory of IT hardware and ensure timely updates and replacements as needed.
- Document current IT systems, infrastructure, and workflows, ensuring all processes are clearly outlined and accessible.
- Monitor the lifecycle of hardware and software assets, coordinating upgrades and decommissioning when necessary.
- Manage the full employee onboarding process, including configuring and deploying IT equipment, setting up user accounts, and providing initial technical training.
- Manage the offboarding process, ensuring the secure return of IT assets and the deactivation of accounts and access rights in accordance with security protocols.
- Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure smooth transitions for new hires and departing employees.
- Develop and deliver training programs for employees on IT systems, software applications, and security best practices.
- Create training materials, guides, and documentation to support ongoing employee education and development.
- Conduct onboarding training sessions to familiarize new hires with IT tools and resources.
- Manage the relationship with the MSP supporting the Japan-based lab collaborating with the MSP to monitor performance, resolve issues, and ensure seamless integration between US and Japan IT operations.
- Provide operational support to the Director of IT Operations, including project assistance in the planning and execution of IT-related projects and initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Perform regular system and network maintenance, ensuring the security, integrity, and availability of IT systems.
- Participate in IT initiatives, including upgrades, software deployments, and disaster recovery planning.
