Position Summary
This position is responsible for supporting the coordination and maintenance of one or more of the CardWorks’ operating facilities. This role includes overseeing the internal office environment and, in some cases, managing the external grounds. The incumbent will assist with the facility’s day-to-day office operations, focusing on necessary repairs, maintenance, improvements, and ensuring overall building safety. Will also be required to be available as part of our Critical Response team during emergencies.

Essential Functions
- Performs upkeep and minor improvements to existing assets such as replacing light bulbs, ceiling tiles, minor repair to various technology equipment (printers, desktop PCs, toner cartridges).
- Coordinates and supports external vendors with routine maintenance, service visits and specialty tasks.
- Performs and document daily walkthrough of the facility and mitigate any safety or health risks, such as any tripping hazards, exposed electrical, unsafe storage of items, or other potentially dangerous situations.
- Monitors safety and backup systems to ensure that they are up-to-date and compliant with internal procedures and external requirements.
- Required to be available, as part of the Critical Response team, on an ad hoc basis, as needed during emergency situations.
- Tests safety and backup systems when appropriate.
- Interacts with staff at all levels to gauge the impact of facility changes and to understand when changes may be needed.
- Supports facility improvements projects through highlighting potential concerns and offering viable suggestions for improvement.
- Monitors and summarize progress of projects to facilities management and notify impacted employees as necessary and when appropriate.
- Orders supplies and ensure adequate inventory of needed items are on hand in order to accomplish required maintenance.
- Cleans and replenishes restrooms 3 times a shift and as needed.
- Perform janitorial duties around the facility i.e trash removal, cleaning up all areas in the building when necessary, vacuuming etc
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
- One (1) year of related facilities maintenance experience required
- Ability to maintain local vendor and industry contacts in the event that their expertise is needed, sometimes immediately
- Ability to work under pressure; flexibility and willingness to work at a rapid pace
- Familiarity with Windows based computer applications
- Keyboarding proficiency
- Ability to convey a clear understanding of expectations, including time-frames and requirements
- Ability to convey, understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- Ability to compose and analyze correspondence
- Ability to multi-task is essential
- Establish of upward and downward communication channels
- Must be able to work with vendors
- Work is in an office environment, sustained posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time; works with computer equipment for prolonged periods of time
- Routinely walks the building premises and moderate lifting or pushing may be necessary
- Some stress may occur
- Must be able to travel/commute to or between the Woodbury, Long Island office and our NYC office.
- Maintain cleanliness in the restrooms and in and out of the building
- Trash removal daily
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, as part of the job responsibilities
- May be required to work additional hours on an as needed basis
- This position will work routinely with the technology department and in conjunction with the on-site leadership team
- This position typically reports to the Manager, Director or AVP of Facilities
