What are the responsibilities and job description for the TEACHER SUPPORT / FOOD PREP position at Care-a-lot Child Care?
To be responsible for kitchen operations including coordination of the planning, ordering, preparing , and clean-up of food provisions served by the Center.
Responsibilities :
- Adhering to all the policies and procedures of Care-a-lot Child Care and the child care licensing regulations of the New York State Department of Social Services
- Performing all work in accordance with governmental laws and state mandates
- Interacting with children in a positive, respectful, responsive, and encouraging manner
- Maintaining a positive work climate, meeting deadlines, and organizing kitchen procedures
- Providing timely supervisor reports outlining needs, problems, suggestions for improvement, etc.
- Preparing timely menu, food cost, and budget information
- Maintaining knowledge of enrolled children's food allergies and planning, and preparing accordingly
- Maintaining records and keeping necessary written documentation
- Supervising and maintaining general housekeeping of the kitchen and food service area
- Interviewing, orienting, and supervising Kitchen Assistants
- Communicating effectively and directly with other staff
- Completing 15 hours of early childhood training within the first 6 months and every year thereafter
- Maintaining current Aspire account to record education and training with QualitystarsNY
- Taking on additional responsibilities as needed
