The ideal candidate will play a critical role in cultivating relationships with new and existing donors, increasing philanthropic contributions, and advancing the mission of providing exceptional healthcare to Cleveland’s underserved communities.
Requirements
Fundraising Strategy:
- Develop and manage an annual plan to grow individual giving, including major gifts, mid-level giving, and annual fund campaigns.
- Collaborate with the Director of Development to identify and prioritize donor prospects and align strategies with organizational fundraising goals.
- Implement innovative strategies to identify and engage new individual donors.
- Build, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with individual donors, ensuring personalized engagement and communication.
- Develop and execute tailored cultivation and stewardship plans for major gift prospects and annual donors.
- Plan and oversee donor recognition activities, including personalized thank-you letters, events, and impact reports.
- Work closely with leadership and board members to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gift prospects.
- Coordinate meetings, site visits, and personalized interactions to inspire significant contributions.
- Design and execute annual appeals and targeted giving campaigns, including Giving Tuesday, year-end fundraising, and other campaigns.
- Oversee the production of campaign materials, including direct mail, email, and social media communications.
- Maintain accurate donor records in the database, ensuring proper tracking of interactions, giving history, and preferences.
- Analyze donor data and create reports to evaluate progress toward fundraising goals and inform strategy adjustments.
- Collaborate with the events team to ensure donor-centric elements are incorporated into fundraising and stewardship events.
- Identify opportunities to use events as a platform for donor cultivation and recognition.
- Work closely with marketing and communications to align donor messaging with organizational branding.
- Partner with program staff to develop compelling donor impact stories that highlight Care Alliance’s mission.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, or a related field required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in individual giving, major gift fundraising, or related nonprofit development roles.
- Skills:
- Proven success in cultivating and stewarding individual donors, with demonstrated ability to secure gifts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a compelling storytelling ability.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in donor database systems (e.g., Blackbaud, Raiser’s Edge, or similar platforms).
- Experience designing and executing multi-channel fundraising campaigns.
- A collaborative spirit and ability to work effectively across teams.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of healthcare or social services fundraising.
- Familiarity with Cleveland’s philanthropic community.
- Experience in securing six-figure gifts from individual donors.
- Passion for Care Alliance’s mission and commitment to advancing health equity particularly with respect to Care Alliance’s service populations of homeless and insecurely housed individuals and families.
- High level of cultural competency including the capacity to interact respectfully and with dignity with people of all cultures, language, classes, races, ethnicity, religions, spirituality, immigration status, gender, sexual identity, and other diversity factors.
- A strategic mindset with a track record of innovation in fundraising.
