What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist position at Care Animal Clinic?
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in clients and their pets with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Schedule appointments and answer phone calls, providing excellent customer service
- Maintain accurate records of client information, medical history, and treatment plans
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with various procedures and treatments
- Handle financial transactions, including processing payments and managing invoices
- Keep the reception area clean and organized
- Provide general information to clients regarding pet care and veterinary services
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a veterinary receptionist or in a similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, procedures, and medications
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and animal husbandry practices
- Experience working with different types of animals, including equine and small pets
- Understanding of animal physiology and behavior
- Proficient in animal restraint techniques and dog handling skills
- Knowledge of pet grooming practices is a plus
