CareATC is looking for an independent and driven Medical Assistant for a full-time opportunity at the Rhode Island Energy Healthy for Life Clinic, providing occupational health and primary care services! This opportunity will be 8-hour shifts, working from Monday through Friday, 7:00 am 3:30 pm!

About This Opportunity: CareATC is currently looking for a Medical Assistant to work collaboratively with the staff provider within the Rhode Island Energy Occupational Health Office. To provide exceptional patient/client satisfaction, the Medical Assistant will assist in daily front desk activities, perform Drug/Alcohol testing, and assist the provider with patient visits.
The role of the Medical Assistant:
- Clerical responsibilities, appointment scheduling, office call/fax handling
- Greet and Room patients
- Performs DOT and non-DOT physicals, urine drug screen collection, Breath Alcohol testing, and assists/follows up with PFT, EKG, and Audiograms as needed
- Exhibit good clinical judgement within the scope of the role, with or without the provider present
- Follow all clinical and clerical protocols per company policy
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or a general equivalency diploma (GED) is required
- Registered or Certified Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited vocational institution, or a community college course.
- 1-5 years of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant preferred
- Electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection current experience required.
- EMR experience
- Current CPR or BLS certification required
- Current health records with appropriate immunizations are required to work in the health care field.
- Ability to work at multiple locations upon the business need.
- Ability to lift, pull, push manipulate equipment and patients, which requires strength, gross motor, and fine motor coordination.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, climb stairs, and operate a computer.
- Hourly rate: $22-$27
