Job Description
Job Title: Cath Lab RN/Cardiac Cath Lab Nurse
Job Summary:
As a Cath Lab RN/Cardiac Cath Lab Nurse, you will be responsible for assisting in diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures in the Cath Lab. You will work closely with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide safe and effective patient care during procedures. This role requires a high level of technical skill, critical thinking, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in preparing patients for cardiac catheterization procedures
- Monitor patients during procedures and provide appropriate care
- Administer medications as ordered by the cardiologist
- Assist with the insertion and removal of catheters
- Operate specialized cath lab equipment
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the Cath Lab
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a Cath Lab or critical care setting
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to take on-call shifts as necessary
