The successful candidate will be responsible for sterilizing, storing, and distributing medical instruments and equipment in accordance with industry standards and regulations. The Sterile Processing Tech will play a crucial role in ensuring patient safety and the efficiency of medical procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Receive, clean, disinfect, and sterilize medical instruments and equipment
- Inspect instruments for damage or defects, and repair or replace as necessary
- Assemble instrument trays and surgical sets
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes
- Stock and organize sterile supplies
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure timely delivery of instruments for procedures
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe work environment
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a sterile processing certification program
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification preferred
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques and equipment
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow strict protocols
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
