Job Title: CST/Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled CST/Surgical Tech to assist in surgical procedures by preparing operating rooms, arranging equipment, and assisting surgeons during surgeries. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of surgical instruments, sterilization techniques, and patient care to ensure the smooth flow of operations in the operating room.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare operating rooms for surgery by setting up surgical instruments and equipment.
2. Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, and anticipating their needs.
3. Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgical procedure to prevent infections.
4. Handle surgical specimens in accordance with hospital protocols.
5. Assist with patient positioning and prepping before surgery.
6. Monitor and maintain surgical equipment before, during, and after procedures.
7. Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment after use.
8. Provide post-operative care to patients as needed.
9. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure the safety and well-being of patients in the operating room.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
2. Previous experience working as a Surgical Tech in a hospital or surgical center.
3. Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment.
4. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
6. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a sterile environment.
7. Basic life support (BLS) certification required.
8. Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and patients.
9. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
